Not hiring Bruce Arians in 2013

The Los Angeles Chargers probably wish they had fired former head coach Norv Turner two years earlier than they did and promoted defensive coordinator Ron Rivera into that role before the latter escaped to Carolina and won two Coach of the Year awards in a five-season span.

But when they held on to Turner in 2011, Rivera Connor Carrick Authentic Jersey bolted. Two years later, Turner was fired alongside GM A.J. Smith. And two weeks after that, new GM Tom Telesco chose Mike McCoy over Bruce Arians after interviewing both for the vacant head coaching job.

Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Dante Fowler produced a career-high eight sacks in 2017, a total that ranked third on the team.

Still, the Jaguars declined to exercise its fifth-year option on Fowler, who entered the league as the third-overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft.

Had the Jaguars used the option on the defensive end in 2018, Fowler would have earned a base salary of $14.2 million.

Tabor’s season ended on an ugly note, fracturing his forearm in a collision with Diggs while trying to defend a pass in the season finale. The recovery Cortez Kennedy Jersey took about two months and he’s currently wearing a sleeve on the arm, although he says he’s fine. He’s certainly looked fine in the practices that have been open to the media, generally running with the first-team defense.

With the contract averaging $14 million per year, Martin becomes the second-highest-paid offensive lineman behind New York Giants tackle Nate Solder, per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

The previous highest salary for a guard was Jacksonville Jaguars left guard Andrew Norwell, who signed a five-year, $66.5 million deal with $30 million guaranteed during free agency in March.

The 6-foot-4, 315-pound Martin was set to enter the final year of contract (base salary of $9.3 million) and had skipped the voluntary organized team activities.

The Cowboys, however, worked quickly behind the scenes to take care of Martin and did it in a big way with this new deal. He has more than earned it.

Since entering the league as a first-round pick (16th overall) in 2014 with the Cowboys, Martin has been named to four straight Pro Bowls and selected as a first-team All-Pro twice.
